Wu De Will Make You a Better Fighter Part 2 – A Few Lessons From 1980’s Martial Arts Flicks!

So, I posted Part 1 here and it gave some examples of we could apply Wu De in our lives and our training. This week I want to talk about some lessons we can learn about Wu De from 3 of my favorite martial arts flicks from the 1980’s: Best of the Best, The Last Dragon, and The Karate Kid.

These movies are classics and you can learn a lot from them. For example (some serious, some not so serious):

1. No matter how good your “Cobra Kai” skills are no one wants an asshole to win.

2. Train Hard – Because you never know when some psycho with awesome hair is going to try and kick your ass.

3. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose as long as you give it all you’ve got.

4. The Good Guy gets the girl…after shit-kicking the douche bag.

5. Violence should be the last option, but sometimes bullies need to be put in their place.

6. Winning isn’t everything…Especially when you make your opponent cry apologetically afterwards.
